This Europe wide satellite broadband system seems to be very good value compared to the usual satellite prices. For people who are too far from an exchange to get adsl, it seems to be good value.

For an up to 1Mbps, 24 month package the cost appears to be
£19.90 a month
£99.00 for skydsl box
£38.60 shipment charge
Then you can either install it all yourself or get a dish installer in to fix it to the wall/roof (~£100 ?).
With reasonable DIY skills, how hard would that be ?
Am I missing something or is this a great value satellite package for those who can't get ordinary adsl ? Is there a catch ?
Has anyone heard of this company ?

Assuming you're living in the UK, I think a German telephone number should tell you something . . . don't you?

It tells me they are based in Germany but doesn't tell me anything else. The satellite's coverage is Europe wide so it won't make any difference whether you're in Germany or the UK.
What does it tell you ?

Ah, so I was.
mmmm, doesn't look so good.
What about the http://www.getbroadbandanywhere.com/ mentioned.
That looks alot more attractive.
Buy and setup own equipment, no extra costs,
1 month contract @£19.90 + another dial-up ISP account for uplink.
I see micronet has only 2/5 rating on the indicator beside their post.
.... I must investigate further.

I think I would be very cautious with any satellite package. It is a specialist business.
The wording "No contracts to tie you in, just pay monthly" should be looked at very carefully as it obviously has a bearing on things should you want to cancel everything due to poor service and reception.
Of course the draw back with most satellite packages is that you can't upload via the service. What this means you can't even send emails without another ISP such as dial-up as a minimum.
Also download speeds.
I can't remember any forum posters who have had satellite queries or more importantly posters offering help and personal experience of their setup's and advice on best packages.
Best of luck with whatever you choose. Just be careful.

From my basic research, I would have thought a few decent services would have emerged by now. eg. the http://www.getbroadbandanywhere.com/ mentioned, seems as if it should be a satellite business model that should work in a similar way to sky TV. Independent installers come to install a dish aligned correctly with the satellite, an account is activated, the hardware installed, and it should all work in the same way as sky TV works.
However there seems to be a lack of easy to find reviews and ratings of such companies.
I'll keep looking.
