New phone causing broadband to not work
      #378190 - Tue Jan 01 2008 09:16 PM

We've recently bought a new home phone, BT Studio 1500, which is causing our previously ok broadband to not work.

It seems that when we plug the phone into the filter on the main BT socket it breaks the ADSL link. We're on Orange using the Livebox. The @ light starts to flash which according the orange means that it is not synchronised.

If we unplug the new phone or plug the old one in it works fine. However, the old phone was pants so we dont want to use that and unplugging it is not the best solution everytime we want to use the internet!!

The only thing I can see different is the telephone cable for the old phone had 4 contacts on the end which goes into the phone, and the new one has only 2. And the old cable does not work in the new phone, as i thought that might solve the problem.

Its a bit random I know, but does anyone have any ideas what might be a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
