I've got an Acer pc, OS is Vista, broadband with Virgin Media. The pages won't load, msn etc won't log on, even the online updates for the avg won't do it. Firefox and explorer both down. Tried looking at the connections and it says i am connected to the internet but i'm not. I've defragged, emptied the tif's and run spybot, to no avail. What next?

Do you have a router between the Virgin modem and your PC? If not have you tried the standard advice given by VM in such situations of powering down both the modem and the PC then powering up the modem, waiting two minutes then power up the PC?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

Tried, and it's still the same. I've tried ringing VM on their line and no-one is answering. Probably still been charged for it though, thieving gits.
