Hi all, been a while ! Would appreciate some help with this if possible. When running avg virus scan i get the following reports, saying status has changed ?
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kernel32.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
Could this have any effect on the shutting down of the pc, it goes through the shutdown procedure but then immediately boots up again ? Would really appreciate your comments please.
Many thanks.

wingman , you only need be concerned if it shows these files as infected. Otherwise the fact the files have changed is , and i quote from the AVG forum , done during normal maintenance, when you or windows updates files , have had to correct errors on the drive. . If you wish you can stop AVG showing them as changed by : opening the AVG Test Center, and clicking on the F3 key on your keyboard . When the warning box appears tell it to confirm the changes. However this is only a temporary fix as future updates/maintenance may result in the same "changes" warning.
To answer your other question.......this will have no bearing on the shutdown problems you are having.
Until someone more knowledgeable comes along with possible reasons for the restart problem.....here's....a few ponters to kick off with.
