XP and no speakers!! HELP

After suffering with a trojan i have plucked up the courage to reinstall windows xp all is fine save for one major missing item - i have lost my speakers - any assistance out there? thanks

Speakers are hardware and usually sit around the PC, so reinstalling XP wouldn't make them disappear, do you mean you have no sound?

If so, then your sound drivers need reinstalling. Do you know whether you have onboard sound or a separate soundcard?

Hi Mouse, many thanks for getting back to me its easy when you know how!! Should have realised I needed to re-install sound, have done it now and everything is fine, many thanks Yvonne

Don't worry about it, at least you knew where to get your drivers from for the sound.
