I have a computer using XP. I am going to purchase another computer and I wish to network them together with a cable to share files and internet connection. Should I buy the new computer with XP installed or go for Vista?

It depends really. Both would network fine but you should take what experience you have with Vista into account.
If you have never used Vista before, or found it difficult it would be best to stick to what you know and use XP. I think it is also a cheaper option and a personal preference of myself. Though, if you have a specific reason to go with Vista use that. We can help you set up a network between both your computers regardless of what you choose

Thank you for your quick reply Gmac. I have never tried doing this before. Can I simply connect the two computers together with a cable or is more required?
