I need to pick an expert brain or two.
For the past week whenever I exit Windows Explorer and arrive back at my desktop I get an error window pop up to tell me that Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Clicking on the close button W I does close momentarily and then continues as normal and this is sending me nuts.
Clicking on the link for Error signature produces the following AppName: explorer exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.3156 ModName: Unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0. offset:015c16d3
Clicking on the link for Tech Info produces a long list of info in the upper window and in the lower window it says
The following files will be included in this error report
and it lists C:\\DOCUME~1\HP-ADM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\1eb_appcompat.txt.
I am running XP Home.
I have run AVG Virus and Rootkit scans, Spyware Terminator and Spyware Doctor scans and ZoneAlarm has also done a scan of it's own accord and all came up with exactly nothing.
I seem to recall I did a defrag the day before using Auslogics program.
The only thing I have not tried is a system restore but I thought I would ask for advice before I did that.
Any info to help me get rid of this problem would be greatly welcomed

Trying to solve a particular Windows Explorer Error would be similar to looking for a needle in a haystack.
As it appears to be a "recent" problem , system restore is your best bet. You've nothing to lose by trying it.
