CD / DVD password protected?
      #377257 - Wed Dec 26 2007 01:05 PM

Merry Christmas all, I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas period.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask in but I am wondering if it is possible to apply a password to my CD or DVD data discs? I want to back up some files to CD or DVD but I would like to know that not just anybody can access the data! Is there a built in option or can I download something to my discs that will require a password to be entered before accessing the files?

An easy way to achieve what you want is either to ZIP or RAR archive the files or folders first, then password protect them from within the compressing program that your using.
Burn to CD/DVD and whoever gets access to them will have to put in your password.

Hope that helps.
