m3u
      #376820 - Fri Dec 21 2007 06:41 PM

Hi, just bought my husband a new satnav for xmas with mp3 player. He converted a load of his mp3 files to m3u and copied them to his satnav and they wouldn't play (I know - they're not audio files )He then decided to convert the m3u on his laptop BACK to mp3 (I know,I know)with - surprise, surprise - no success !
He deleted the files from the satnav.
My question is - does he have to download all these files again , or are they all still on the laptop somewhere ? Have opened the m3u files with notepad and there is no path.
Cheers

Hi rip - welcome to the forum.

The M3U file format is a 'playlist' format (recognised by WinAmp, and other software/hardware players), it is not an audio format. Basically, it holds information regarding the 'location' of audio files, nothing more.

How did he 'convert' the MP3 files?
