Maybe I am just paranoid, and I do not know how the other Forum members feel about this, but I am certainly very, very reluctant to click on a link posted by a user in his first post.

The link is fine. The user obviously could not screen cap the part of the bootup that isnt working so had to get a link from what is in this case, a web article.
To our new user, Welcome Can you start the computer in Safe Mode? This can be accessed by tapping F8 as the system boots up until you get a menu to select it.

G'day sachin1.
I expect it is the last thing. Why would your computer want to go and get an XPlaunchscreen.jpg?
XP comes compleat with its' own...

How long do you leave it trying to load Safe Mode? Sometimes it can seem to stick for ages, then loads.
I suspect it's your video card or drivers that are causing the problem. It loads the XP logo screen using the VGA driver. As sson as it tries to load the proper drivers for your screen resolution it crashes.
If you can get into Safe Mode, try a system restore to a time it worked OK. Then find the latest driver for your video card.
If it won't load, you will probably need a new card.

OK OK I can't go any faster! aaaaaaaaaaaagh!
