My daughter has bought another laptop and wants to transfer her Skype to it. I told her to load the Skype details to her memory stick and download to her new comp.,which she has done, but her contacts have not transferred over - how can she do this ?

Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\Skype" and save the folder.
Once you have installed Skpe on the new laptop, copy what you saved in the same folder.

Your welcome cauldbum.
The 'Application Data' my be hidden so you will have to view Hidden files and folders via 'My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Advanced settings' This applies to XP operating Systems.

I don't think you can or need to transfer Skype contacts from one PC to another. All your contacts details are held on the Skype servers and the simple act of re-creating your account on a new PC will automatically download your contacts when you next use the system. At least they did on the three PCs that I've tried it on.

Greysts & Fusion, My daughter is out in Dubai and apparently there are some restrictions placed on Skype and Messenger there making it difficult. However she has managed Skype as Greysts suggests, but still having probs with Messenger. Cheers Cauldbum.
