Hi all. Help! please.
This probably seems like a daft question, but i just don't know.
I've got a friend staying with me over Christmas, and he needs to do some work for which he needs to connect his laptop to the net.
I have sky broadband using an ethernet hard wire connection.
If my friend wants to connect using my router, is it simply a case of plugging the ethernet cable into his laptop, or is that just wishful thinking on my part!!?
Many thanks,
Bert.

It's not wishful thinking at all
If you have a router with more than one ethernet port on it then you will be able to run both computers connected at the same time on the Internet, 9 times out of ten.
If there is only one on it, you can still run one computer at a time without much hassle at all.
Even if it doesn't work all that is needed is a little bit of configuration.
