I have a mate who has AOL adsl broadband and a wired Desktop PC with XP, he wants to use a laptop on WiF arround the house, what WiFi router will be best to buy I allways use Netgear, next question does he have to load AOL on the laptop (XP loaded on laptop) or is their a way round it as he doent realy want AOL on it.

best router is netgear to use with aol as aol provide technical support for setting up and any other problems you might have with your wireless connection
your 2nd question the answer is no you don,t have to load aol onto the laptop, he should be able to connect to the internet wirelessly by clicking on internet explorer icon, same applies if he has firefox or any other browser installed on his laptop
