Hi there.
My daughter's laptop goes to the screen that says Windows did not start last time & then offers the variuos options eg safe mode, last known good configuration. etc. Whichever I choose - it goes to a Blue screen which then vanishes so quickly I can't read it- the only phrase I've managed to catch is something nearthe end which says something about memeory dump.
Then it goes back to the page mentioned above- and the whole thing happens all over again.
Help please.....
Karin
Any ideas

You need a Windows CD to get any further, so borrow one from a friend if you don’t have your own, make sure it‘s the same operating system, i.e. Home or Pro. What you're trying to achieve is to be able to start in safe mode so that you can find out what is causing the problem. This is the starting point :-
Boot from the XP CD (you may have to change the BIOS boot sequence) and let Windows ‘set up’, then select the first R for the Recovery Console. Type the Administrator password or press Enter if you haven’t set one.
When the command prompt (>) appears, type chkdsk /f /r (note the space) and press Enter.
Let us know if this finds/corrects any errors.
