I have been running SETI since 2000 ,and on the latest BOINC screen saver I have found a fun trick to do When it appears you'd think it just shakes around(on the starfield) ,But you are wrong. I found this trick by accident You cannot do this in the Screensaver mode (reverts to Desktop or whatever when you touch the Keyboard or mouse)
If you are using the BOINC Manager program press the Show Graphics button on the Running work unit on the "Commands" menu section left side (Top button) Will be "Greyed out" if there is another application running "Suspend" that, then the Seti workunit will run if next in the queue NOTE-Click the Resume button to restart the application (was the "Suspend" button) All these are at the Top of the Menu list in the "Commands" section PS Only other button is the Abort button (for getting rid of a failed unit)
OK You have got it showing? Ideally full screen.. Now point your mouse anywhere in the image ...Hold the Right Mouse button down while moving the Mouse and you'll note the Image can be zoomed in and out (better "Up & Down") And there's more...Do the same with the Left Mouse button and the entire Frame can be revolved!!
I've had it displaying upside down ,back to front , side on,Reversed(both zoomed in and zoomed out)
It does revert back to the default when the Workunit is complete and Uploaded
Only other BOINC Application with similar properties is Einstein (which is a revolving starchart/globe) Unless somebody knows of others?
