Not sure if this is in the right section or not but here goes
Can anyone tell me is it down to my settings or what but are a lot of the web sites only using about two thirds of the page width(webuser included)unlike some that use all the page

Unfortunately that's the fault of the web page designer rather than your PC. In the old days web pages were designed to fit a standard 800x600 pixel screen because that's the way computer screens were built. Then they moved up a bit to 1024x768 but they were still all the standard 4:3 aspect ratio.

Now, of course, screens are any old size including wide screen which are 16:9 ratio. Many web page designers kept up with technology and re-designed their pages to automatically expand to fill the available screen space. You will have noticed that this forum hasn't managed to do so yet!!

Many thanks greysts, like we have the technology but don`t keep up with it.

p.s. Why don't the web designers make te advert at the top of the screen either 3 or 4 lines not both, saves the screen jumping up and down, my mouse is running red hot

I assume you are using Internet Explorer as your browser. Try Firefox and see what it looks like.
