Please, can you help me?
I can access my email account, and messages are being downloaded, the bar at the bottom of my screen says I have 27 messages but nothing appears in the window, just a white screen. Neither does the ‘inbox’, or ‘sent’ box etc appear in the left hand side of screen.
What normally happens is that Kaspersky checks for Spam and displays them for me to decide to allow or not allow them, as the case may be. Kaspersky still lets me do this but nothing is being displayed on my screen even though it is showing messages being downloaded.
The only thing that appears now is an orange search bar under Outlook Express’s Tool Bar that wasn’t there before. Also all the items in the menu bar work ok ie, File, Edit View etc.
The previous day OE asked me if I wanted to compact old emails to save space. I clicked on ‘Yes’ and OE did its thing. I then noticed the recycle bin was full with Email Back-ups and deleted them.
I would be grateful for your help.

Have you set your Firewall to allow "Outlook Express.exe"? It works in various ways on Firewalls but normally there is somewhere to ADD sites or MANAGE sites and you then browse through to where the OE is. Normally in Office?

I have had my firewall up and running for some time now without any problems with my emails, so I don't think this can be the proble. If it is why has it started all of a sudden?

I was guessing that Kaspersky might have been a recent addition. If not, then you are right. Must be something else. Because of problems I have had, I am very suspicioous of Firewalls. They can have a mind of their own!
