Got a new Laptop. Advent K200 vista Home Premium. Has detected Orange Livebox signal but wont accept "Security Key" I didnt originally set up the Livebox but i'm sure I have the correct Security code as its a 26 digit number. Under the Config Tab on my "Wireless Configuration Utility HW.32" it shows ...WEP-KEY (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)- a 26 digit code. I still have the original piece of paper what came with the Livebox and I have typed this number in but still nothing . Any Ideas ?
Two items of information are required to connect wirelessly, the SSID name and the security key.
The SSID may be case-sensitive and the 26 character key is probably hexadecimal. If it is hex, it can only be 0 to 9 and a to f. Don't confuse 0 (zero) with o (oh, which is invalid) or 1 (one) with l (ell, which is invalid).

I only have one "0" in the 26 digit code and I made sure it was a "zero" but still nothing. It doesnt ask for a SSID as it comes up as "livebox-02b0 Security enabled network " after it has found the signal. I have now connected the laptop to the Livebox directly using an ethernet cable and clicked on "Connecting using Broadband through DSL cable" it then asked me for a User name & password which I typed in my email address & password (from my original Orange account) and this works - I can connect to internet. It just seems to have a problem with Wireless and the 26 digit code.
You would be better off creating a brand new key for WPA and using that on all the PCs in the network. The easiest way to do that is use the reset button on the router to take it back to factory settings and start from scratch.
