Hi Webusers, I'll try to keep this simple..... I use dial-up, but desperately want to upgrade to BB. Dial-up works for me, as I work between Inverness and London, with a week a month in Portugal. Can't get wi-fi at all of the locations, as 2 are remote. Therefore I just plug in the phone line and am online, without having to drive 10 or 15 miles to the nearest wi-fi hotspot. Without spending a fortune, is there any access solution for me, aside from taking out three subscriptions to a BB supplier? Surely there must be other travelling businesspeople who have the same issue?? I've talked with AOL (current supplier) and BT to see whether their technical people could help, but those were wasted calls! I am very appreciative of advice that anyone can give. Many thanks, Jonathan.

By pure coincidence we in Age Concern have been looking for something similar so we can go out on the road teaching silver surfers to use a PC but have internet access without the client having to use their own telephone line. We've found a deal from Carphone Warehouse and they've offered us a package at £10 a month plus £50 setup where they supply a mobile phone, sim card, modem and USB lead. It's their Broadband Plus 24 Months and you get a 3gb download limit with a speed of up to 1.8mbs. It's using the Three network and according to their website, Inverness has full coverage. Admittedly only 3 to 4 times faster than dial-up but better than nothing.
Here's a link.

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

Many thanks for the suggestion. I'll check out what Carphone Warehouse say. Really hope this won't have prohibitively expensive access from overseas.
