I am trying to connect to a home network with an Acer laptop.
"The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network."
In the Vista "Connect to a network" dialog box, the network I am trying to connect to has a red cross next to it and the message above.
Please could someone help me discover exactly which settings these are and how to change them.
The funny thing is, I have managed to configure my own laptop (which is virtually idenitical to my mother's which I have messed up) to access the wireless router and the Internet. But I don't know how!!
Thank you in advance for all your help.

Have a look at this and then follow the instructions to check that both IPv4 and IPv6 are set to get an IP address automatically. If they aren't make them so then try the connection again.

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
