not a valid win32 application

Help!
I don't know what may have happened but I don't seem to be able to open any acrobat files by double-clicking on them. It shows the above " not a valid win32 application".

I can open, read and operate on the files by going into the program directly using Adobe reader 6.2 or convert to adobe using Acrobat 4 version.

Is there an easy way to correct the problem? I don't seem to find a solution on the internet or microsoft except re-boot the system or fiddling with the registry.

Any suggestion?
