I've just had to replace my PC but have kept the peripherals including AG Neovo F-17 monitor (up-to-date driver installed). My problem has been alluded to by other posters. It was fine before the swap but now the writing on screen is too small for comfortable reading and fuzzy at the edges.
I've tried changing resolution (using 1280 x 1024 at present), font size, DPI, refresh rate, smoothing, etc etc but nothing seems to make much difference at all, especially to the size and fuzziness of the text on web pages themselves. It applies to Outlook screens as well.
Any suggestions? I'm using Windows XP Pro and IE6 SP2 with a Dell Optiplex 745. Can someone explain what effect the various changes were supposed to have as it wasn't apparent.

My immediate thought is that the on-board graphics chip isn't man enough to drive the screen but that shouldn't really be the case as the PC is quite a high spec. Have you tried downloading the latest drivers from the Dell site? The resolution you've chosen (1280x1024) is correct for that screen.

Thank you. I have downloaded and installed all the drivers that looked vaguely relevant and re-booted but the display is just the same. Do you have any other suggestions. Is the following information any use? I've copied it from the graphics card bit: Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver Report Report Date: 11/21/2007 Report Time[hr:mm:ss]: 22:07:49 Driver Version: 6.14.10.4642 Operating System: Windows XP* Professional, Service Pack 2 (5.1.2600) Default Language: English DirectX* Version: 9.0 Physical Memory: 1013 MB Minimum Graphics Memory: 8 MB Maximum Graphics Memory: 256 MB Graphics Memory in Use: 11 MB Processor: x86 Processor Speed: 2791 MHZ Vendor ID: 8086 Device ID: 2992 Device Revision: 02

I don't know if it is relevant but the text under the icons on the desktop looks like it has a black shadow behind it whereas the text in programmes an on webpages looks very thin or skinny but still blurry. It's all very frustrating. Angele

One quick thought, I see the screen can use 75hz rather than 60hz that you've currently got it it set at. Try upping it to 75.

I've just tried that but if anything it seems to make it worse. Something else I've noticed is that if I highlight text, the bits that text which would normally turn white shows up in white and rainbow colours. It's only just percepible but definitely there.
I have a spare flat screen monitor. If I swap this one over with it, would it help identify what the problem is do you think? It would be a bit of a hassle because of the way I have my wiring.

It would be a useful test to see whether the fault lies with the screen of the PC. Can you take the test one stage further and try your screen on someone else's PC?
