These are websites for myself and my partner, I am a full time mum and get bored and dabble in website design. Any feedback on the sites would be appreciated.

http://www.jackiestewart.co.uk this is a personal web page originally designed for my kids to play games safely on but now it is access by many people due to the fact of its content of kjoke, illusions, pc help etc.

http://www.stuartyspics.co.uk is a photography site which any pic is allowed ot be used with the consent of the owner and are all taken by stuarty himself.

A great site for family and friends. In my opinon there is too much information on there about yourself and your family. You have full names, city where you live, ages etc. But then thats just my thoughts.

Some good photographs on the site. I like the camera navigation idea!

Just a question about both sites. Why the link to your robots.txt file?

There is no need to link to it. Spiders will look for it and find it as long is it's in the root directory.

Too much repetition of very similar photos. I suggest you select the best ones and remove the rest.

Can't think of anything negative to say about it really except that one of the links is not displaying properly. Well done!

Jackie, your site is very good and lots of nice stuff on it. Some especially good if you live in Glasgow. Some nice little games and things to keep someone busy.

Although I do agree with the previous poster who commented about a lot of personal info being on the site, including the name of the school your daughter goes to. I would be a bit wary of putting info such as that on public view.

Stuarts site is very nice, but as the other person said, as little bit of repetition there and the black background is a bit unflattering to the photos.

Otherwise very good and well done!

I like the site and I think you have done a good job.

I especially like the colour in and print section as this is great for kids, but should it not be called print and colour in?

Just by chance at random I looked at /files/disable%20error%20reporting.htm and it displayed three error reports.
If you run your code through 'cse html validator lite' (the free version)it will alert you to most coding errors, I use it all the time and could not do without it.

Rather a shame that two months down the line, Jackie hasn't had the courtesy of responding to all the feedback she was asking for.

Hello Jackie. I have just looked at your Homepage then the PC Help. I have not long ago got a website going myself just using the tiny amount of webspace my ISP lets me use. I just wanted to learn/teach myself about the mechanics of the whole website building process. When it came to putting content on it I was a little stumped! So I decided to put some PC help stuff on it, mainly for some new, though older people getting into PC's at a group I go to. You're help page on that really reminded me of mine and where I got the ideas etc. I'm going to make a note of your url now to look further, it's great so far, well done, you're an inspiration to a newbie site builder like me! I would like to know what programs/tools you used. Fair play to you Jackie!

My site was originally built using microsoft frontpage but have recently changed it slightly using their new web expressions software. There are many free design softwares that I tried too over the years. I too used my free ISP webspace but I had restrictions on many features like counters and contacting options so I now use a basic webhosting service and it incuded a free domain name.

In response to the moderator sorry I hadnt replied to any posts I changed myt email address and hadnt received and notifications. Updated now and thanks for the comments.

Hello jackie, I thought you must have done something with the Domain name, thats the most trouble i have because of the ending of my url. my address is http://members.aol.com/cmcsaj/ so as you can see, I have trouble indexing/ etc.
I coudn't do all the java script and that as I don't have the knowledge or software for that. Best wishes to you with youre website, I'll get back to you on this forum again...

Hi Jackie. I have got myself another website using Webnode (it was featured in Web User a while back) It means I have much more storage/ space etc and is the best free program I have tried so far. However, obviously you don't have complete control and I have problems using html and css. For a free webhost it's pretty good though.
Hope it's still going ok with the website.

the only thing I'd like to see changed is the size of the text you are using, it appears too small only monitor.
