My problem is with Hotmail. About five years ago when I got my first PC I opened a hotmail account so I could access my e-mail anywhere. I have been using the service ever since and recently upgraded to Windows live with Messanger. The problem is that last night I tried to access my Hotmail account and was told my pasword was incorrect (my PC automatically signs in when I am online - but the password has been altered by someone) and so I tried to reset the password but it seems the procedure involves either an alternate e-mail account (nothing has been sent to my pop3 account or providing details of your location followed by answering a question in chinese ?? or something. This is very frustrating as all my contacts and a lot of info is stored there and as I've now opened a new account I wish to forward all my e-mails to my new account and close the old one. Can anyone please help.

Are you sure that your password has been reset. I have a Hotmail account, and like you my Opera browser Wand should sign me in, but for the last week or so my (correct) password is being rejected. I find now that I sign in, get rejected twice but that the same login detail is accepted on the third attempt. This has started since Hotmail changed to Live Mail ( I think that is what it is called now), and it is consisted at two rejections and acceptance on the third. Don't know if that helps you, but I reckon there is a problem at Hotmail, not with you or your password.

have you tried accessing your hotmail on another pc?, sometimes that works and you can change settings if need be.
