Here is a clearer fast way to check if your Network is Firewalled
on XP
Open the Control Panel,Click on Windows Firewall then the Advanced Tab
And the Network Connections box should have 4 Links within, 3 if No Firewire (1394) Socket is on the Machine
Only thing to check is that they are All ticked
