I have just bought a new usb 2.0 hub for my computer running XP pro tablet edition, but on installing it I get the message "usb device not recognised" and no drivers installed. I tried the hub on the family computer (xp home) with the same result. Both computers are fully updated. I have just been given a brand new Acer at work (xp pro) so I tried the hub on that, and it installed with no problems. Any suggestions as to how I can install the drive on my own computer?

My first guess would be that neither of your two home systems are generating enough power through the USB ports to drive the hub. Have you tried removing all the other USB devices and then plugging in your hub?

I have tried that on my xp pro system, as that's the computer I want it for (plus it's a pain getting all the usb devices out of the other machine), and perhaps I should have said, it's a powered hub. The lights go on when it is powered up, so it appears that the power supply is working. Thanks for the reply though, and any other thoughts would be welcomed.

Both machines' ports are usb 2 and I have used them as such so I know the ports are working as they should.
