Vista Compatible Webcam?

Hiya,

Can anyone recommend a decent but cheap (below £40) vista compatible webcam (preferrably with mic)?

I have telephoned various shops in the local area but each one says I have to check on the individual webcam's website to check if it is vista compatible! Surely not!

I have already tried to install one webcam (Advent 300K) with a patch for vista but it still messed the full operating system up firstly by making the driver for the CD Drive not work and when that problem was sorted out with the patch, the patch caused the windows verification to mess up so I couldnt download any windows updaets. In the end I have just uninstalled the webcam and admitted defeat (one for ebay)!

I dont want to go out and buy a webcam again (its for my neighbour) that is apparently Vista compatible but causing no end of problems!

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

I use a Logitech QuickCam on this machine
which is Windows XP Pro,and the same camera
works on my other machine which is Vista Home
premium.Ive had no trouble at all.

I took your advice and bought the logitech Quickcam Communicate STX Plus (£39.99) and it even had Vista Compatible written on the box

It has all installed fine and no problems so far
