ive got a problem with the blue screen of death- its coming up with the unmountable_boot_volume. now ive searched the net and found a supposed solution on the microsoft website which involves using the recovery console on a windows xp disc. im in the middle of running the recovery console at the moment and its 59% done. is there anything else i should look out for whilst doing this?
One doesn't 'run' the recovery console! It is accessed to run certain programs.
I suspect that you must be repairing Windows, which will require that all previous Microsoft service packs and updates have to be re-applied. Your personal data and non-Windows programs (with a few exceptions) will not be affected.
