I have a new motherboard bundle for my desktop its a winfest with an amdx2 cpu i currently have a Pentium 4 and a D845GVSR motherboard on it. I have xp home preinstalled on my emachines 3260uk desktop. I have previously successfully upgraded cpu and ram and added an extra hard drive a new graphics card this tho is a step up in my tinkering! (at least in my eyes!) what advice does anyone have before i rip my machine apart and leave myself computer less!

In no particular order :-
- Make sure you have a motherboard manual. - Make yourself aware of LED and switch connections, front USBs can be fiddly. - Be firm but not heavy-handed when pushing in connectors, clips, etc. - Discharge any static electricity. - Set the motherboard jumpers correctly, e.g. clear CMOS (BIOS).
I'm sure there are other things but these spring to mind at the moment.
Good luck
