Partition Hard drive with Vista and XP

I just got a new laptop PC and I was hoping to partition the hard drive to use both windows xp and vista. It is a dell and it comes preinstalled with vista. Can you help? THANKS.

Have you got a full install version of XP on a CD that has not been installed on any other PC?
