Very strange connection problem - help please?
      #369827 - Fri Oct 26 2007 11:46 PM

Whenever I boot up iTunes or plug in a device via USB cable (i.e my digital camera) I lose my internet connection completely and can't get it back unless I uninstall my wireless USB adapter software then re-install it. I'm with BT and am using a BT voyager 1055 wireless adapter with a BT home hub.

Please can anyone help? It's all very strange and is rather annoying as you can imagine.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me as if your USB devices aren't getting enough power to run them all. Are you using a non-powered USB hub?

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

Thanks for the reply, I use the USB ports on the PC and also a hub which is powered direct from my PC. It just seems odd that when I load up itunes or plug in my camera my internet connection is lost and I can't get it back without un-installing and re-installing my USB wireless adapter.

Hmmmm.

That will be the problem. You need one that has an independent power supply.

Cheers, I'll get one and give it a try.
