I installed Copernic Desktop Search 2 a few days ago. It installed fine and indexed all my files. I was really impressed at how thorough it worked.
The trouble is, every time I switch off my PC or reboot it, when I go to use Copernic, it never finds any thing that I am searching for on my PC, even if I enter specific file names that I know are in existence.
Thinking this must be a glitch I have now tried installing X1, Google Desktop and Copernic (not all at the same time) and the same thing happens - several hours indexing, they work fine but on rebooting my PC the next day the search engines return 0 results! Google desktop sometimes finds emails, despite the fact I have selected options to search files etc, but its very hit and miss
Is it possible that there is something being deleted or cleaned at shutdown/bootup? I use AVG antivirus and spyware but have had no warnings or detections from them.
I have 3 log ins on my PC and I am the only one with Administrator privileges and it is under my log-in that I have installed the program.
Any idea what the problem could be? _________________ AMD Duron 1.3, 1GB SDRAM, QDI Mobo K7V8363 Kinetiz 7B, 20GB & 40gb HD, ATi 9600Pro, Catalyst 3.10, Windows XP HE 2002 & SP 2, Direct X 9.0c, IE 6.0.2800.1106IS, OE 6.00.2600.0000, Creative Extigy
