Dvd burning?????
      #369057 - Fri Oct 19 2007 06:53 PM

Hi all and thanks in advance for any help given.

I have a portable DVD player in the back of the car to keep the kids occupied on long journeys.
I have a few music Dvds that they like to watch but the originals keep getting scratched. Can anyone recommend a good DVD copier, I have tried to burn a copy using DVD shrink but it is very jumpy and keeps sticking. I tried to burn another copy at a much slower burn rate but still no good.
I do not know a lot about copying, so plain English please.

Thanks again Jeff

If you are trying to copy copyrighted DVDs (and that would be only reason I can think of for using DVDShrink) then this isn't the forum for you. If they are not copyright then a simple DVD copy should work.

Greysts
In the past you have been of great help to me on this forum, you say this is not the forum for me, well it has been for many years now. I am not a pirate nor am I trying to build a counterfeit empire. I have purchased the original Dvds, when the children (aged 5 & 6) are in the back of the car arguing over Dvds and swapping the discs every ten minutes they keep getting scratched.
As far as I am aware (i may be wrong)it is not illegal to make back up copies of materials that you have purchased legally as long as it is for private use.

I feel that your response to me is very narrow minded, you have automatically assumed that I am some kind of pirate, I stated in my question that I know very little about copying Dvds, as for dvd shrink what difference does that make, as far as Know it is used for copying Dvds which is what I wanted to do.

No offence intended Greysts, as I have said you have been of great help in the past as have many other helpers on here, but please don't categorise me in such a patronising way.

Jeff

ps I still need to copy these Dvds

You need a software programme like Nero Click

You could also try Ashampoo Burning Studio 6, much simpler to use than Nero

Hello jeff. I do not think that greyst was implying anything he seemed and quite rightly so trying to protect the good name of this forum. Whereas you maybe sincere there are a lot of people out there that are not so, I urge you to be a bit more understanding.

Thanks for your help all
Nero is working nicely. Nero 8 has some neat extras on it.
Haven't got to grips with them all but what I have used is working well.
Got myself some better quality discs as well, all helps
