Anyone know how to convert curly quotes into straight quotes? I manage a website which requires placing lots of text but whenevr a curly, or smart quote is used, it displays as a ? in the browser screen. The only way i can solve it is to manually correct every instance of curly quotes and curly apostrophes. ( By curly quotes I mean the quote marks which look like tiny 6s and 9s in speech marks and apostrophes and not like this " or '. Microsoft Word automatically formats straight quotes into curly quotes but there is no reverse procedure. ) I have tried saving text in different formats from programs like notepad but it still doesn't work. I just need something to completely un-format or scrub the text. i do have a program called clipboard scrub-it but which removes formatting but it doesn't go as far as curly quotes. Anyone got any ideas. ??

Not sure if I am missing something but why dont you just use find and replace, it's available in notepad under the edit option. All you need to fo is copy the quoted and paste them into the find and replace in notepad
