I am currently trying to make my neighbours pc more user friendly and I have looked everywhere I can think of to solve this problem but I just cant find it.
When I have IE explorer open and I click the Read Mail icon it opens Windows Mail but under the current browser page! I am having to click the tab at the bottom of the page to view Windows Mail. I am sure it is a simple click in a box but I just cant find which box to click if you know what I mean
Any help would be most appreciated. I have posted this in the Vista section as it is Vista that is the operating system!
Thanks in advance
BTW - I have changed the TAB section so new tabs open on top of the current tab, it is only Windows Mail that I cant do
I thought I would add that it sometimes opens on top of the browser but most of the time opens up in the background!
I have also noticed it with other programs as I have been "teaking" the laptop. To be honest the laptop is an E Systems bottom end laptop. It has a Celeron M processor and I dare say is the minimum spec that is possible to run Windows Vista, could this be the problem?
If not it will just be a setting somewhere what I tick to make programs open "on top" all of the time?
Thanks
EDIT - I think personally that AVG Anti Virus is using up alot of the resources of the laptop (I could be wrong) and I do remember reading in Web User lately a better free Anti Virus which is compatible with Vista, could anyone recommend one?
I just thought I would finish off this thread incase anyone else is having similar problems.
I uninstalled PC Tools firewall and installed Zone Alarms free firewall and it seems to have made a difference! Why? who knows! All I know is that Vista is hard! Things that work fine on my high spec vista machine do not run so well on my neighbours low spec vista machine (same version)! No I dont mean games etc, I mean normal programs like firewalls etc!
