After updating and installing PC Guard which I had previously used for the best part of two years, I now find myself unable to use Firefox to access anything on the web, I keep getting the site not found message.
The only firewall that is currently running is my Windows XP one as when I try to start up PC Guard I immediately get a message saying that I am not connected to the net.
However I can access just about anything I want using Internet Explorer....! Does anyone have any idea why I cannot use firefox at the moment and how do I configure my XP firewall to allow it to browse

Finally managed to get to the root of the problem - when I uninstalled Symantec firewall it left traces of its firewall on my system which blocked Firefox, am happy to say that I narrowed it down to this program and deleted it and everything sprang back into life for me again.
