windows mail font settings?

hi
i have set my font size, colour and style for my new message compositions - no problems. but if i forward a message i've received into my inbox or reply to a received message, my preferred font style is ignored and it reverts back to times new roman or whatever.
is there a way of setting my preferred font to be used whenever i type a new message or reply to a received one??

WM > Tools > Options > Send Tab and untick 'Reply to messages.....'.
