Email timing out
      #367573 - Sun Oct 07 2007 08:49 PM

Hi there,
Hope someone can be patient with this one...It's not me so much as a friend...When typing a letter to me she gets a time out and her email closes and she looses what she has written upto what she has typed...this has become very annoying. She's with NTL world and she does not use Outlook...I have no idea what to suggest...does anyone know what might be causing this.
If any more info is required I'll have to ask her to be more specific so as i can post it here for answers.
thanks to anyone that might be able to help.

If she is using webmail and is taking too long to compose her message, the NTL servers will assume that she has logged on and then forgotten to log off and so will 'time out' even if she is still typing away.

Best thing for her to do is either use Outlook/ Outlook Express if she can or compose her message in Word or notepad and then go into NTL webmail and use cut & paste

thats sounds like a great suggestion..I will ask her to either change to Outlook or do what you suggest about the paste and copy technique...Many thanks.
