The subject of Memory Cards in your computer sounds easy with the Numbers but you look it up on a website there are many different types and Numbers
So say you want more memory for your computer you have no manual and do not want to peek inside,And all you know is you have 256 MB of memory No Problem First job is to download and run (never installs) SIW from www.gtopala.com/ Scroll down the List to Hardware > Motherboard and write dowm the Make and model Number of the Motherboard
And in the grey menu box "Find your Memory" scroll down the list until the Makers name is shown (click it) then select the machine type underneath .most computers are Desktops or Laptops
Custom Built computers are easier the Motherboard models often use common RAM numbers
The Model Number may be on this list but if you are still confused then open up the Computer and peer in to see what number is on the RAM chip (sticker)
Method 2 There is a scan program download off the Memory Ten website which can call out the current Memory board fitted
It's located next to the search menu box (click on the "chip" to start the scan/download
Quote: CHECK YOUR COMPUTER Automatically check your memory configuration and find the exact RAM for your specific Windows computer.
I do note that many other types of mwmory are covered even camera cards
And they do sell it But its a US site Only worth contacting if you happen to need a card which impossible to source in the UK

Postscript I tried the scanner called out the board name ok but said that there were 4 RAM slots..But in Reality there is only 3! SIWs ID is better but cannot ID RAM type fitted
So give the Memory 10 scan a swerve until it gets this issue sorted
I wonder if there is a head to head test on these scanners to correctly identify what is on board? We have similar Head to Heads posted on Spyware and File cleaners yet nothing on Motherboard and running processes ID programs accuracy
