I've had a tiscali broadband connection for over a year, the pc is running windows xp with avg free anti virus.My problem is that i am unable to access the internet even tho the connection is there and transmitting. I cleaned some programs and other stuff of the pc that my kids had downloaded cos it had slowed down a bit, i ran the updates for avg, spybot, spywareblaster and did a disc cleanup and defrag.The next day i tried to access the internet, but all i kept getting was "this page cannot be diplayed" and "cannot find server". I contacted tiscali and they confirmed that the broadband was working and went through a few checks but could not get the web to display, they came to the conclusion that my avg was corupted in some way as we were unable to access it or uninstall it. A friend came round and managed to uninstall the avg but i am still unable to access the web. Any help with this problem would be most appreciated, thanks

Hi, thanks for posting this because I too have Tiscali and frequently have the same problem! It is driving me mad because clearly there is a connection (Tiscali confirm this) yet the error message "cannot find server" occurs.
The problem occurs generally from around 12 noon through to around 6 pm but the internet is fine in the evenings and early mornings.
We are at a loss to understand the problem.
