Burning Music Randomly??
      #362419 - Tue Aug 21 2007 08:27 PM

Is anyone aware of any software/application which is available that will burn music to a CD randomly from a list I create? I just want to dump a few songs/albums into a play list, and have the software burn it to CD in randomly, rather than me having to sort the list. Also, is there software available which will select the order of burning to disc based on BPM (Beats Per Minute), so that you can specify the burn order to start with slow music, rise to faster in the middle perhaps, and then end on slow again?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Why not burn to CD, and then set it play randomly/shuffle etc? That way the order is always going to be different.

Have a look here for BPM calculators of various kinds.

Thanks for your help. I could play the CD on random, but somewhat by contradiction, I would like it to play in the same order each time, so would like it recorded randomly!! I will check out the BPM tools page you have sent, and see if I can find anyhting useful. Ideally I would like the music recorded by BPM, so I can prepare a CD for a party, i.e. start slow, reach a crescendo, and then slow down....chill out! Any further help much appreciated. Cheers

What you need is a good DJ

Aside from that, use your ear to pick what music should follow, try and see if you can build a story from your music and make it a way in which you can switch genres but with similarities.

I realise what you suggest is an option, but I would like to automate the process...

...but a piece of software cannot beat the human ear and skill for track selection, trust me on this...

If you want a machine to do it, either hit shuffle, or buy a juke box.

As per my earlier message, I agree that what you suggest is an option, I would however like to explore this, if only as an experiment...

I agree completely, I want to burn MP3 files randomly too. I hope someone comes up with an answer.
