Some pretty sensible advice in that listing, and although it is by a US eBayer the advice does work here.

I have to say that their advice on writing titles is poor: They suggest New Playstation 3 Core System With 2 Controllers. First off I would take out the With and Core System and put Brand New Playstation 3/PS3 3 Controllers XXX Games. Using And and With in titles is a no no. In fact I would be loathe to put Controllers in the title unless I had more than two and would most likely use the title of the best game I was selling with it, or some other phrase if I had no games.

Auction title words are searchable so including words that no one uses in searches is a waste. You should use every character possible and some titles need not make 'sense' but can be a collection of relevant search words. Think: If you wanted a Brand New PS3 what would you type? Duh! Brand New PS3?

I would say is that whilst Sunday listings aren't a bad idea, we get a lot of Buy Now Sales on Monday's and Thursday's. Friday is the worst night by a mile, and Saturday is not up to much.

You timed this post well, Dangermouse, as last night eBay released this on Seller Non Performance:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html

Quite literally if you mess people about when selling you will find your account restricted, which means you must list accurately, send quickly and safely and respond to queries quickly.

Of course the counter side is when will eBay introduce Buyer Non Performance. We currently have one current dispute with someone who has now gone 9 days without paying, but has promised to send payment today..............We also have an overseas buyer who insists on sending a personal cheque when we clearly state PayPal only and their email address is not valid................

The trick to selling and buying on eBay is to act quickly and treat the experience for the other person as you would want to be treated.
