Hello, something really annoying keeps happening to my pc which is driving me mad... I keep getting a pop up thing from my toolbar telling me
local area connection 2 network cable unplugged
My connection then dips (it doesn't shut AOL down just freezes)and my green arrows go yellow then olive green then back to green all in about 30 seconds, this happens around every 5 minutes, at all times of the day. I'm on AOL broadband using a BT voyager 100 modem.
I was thinking it could be the cable from my pc to the phone box, but it even pops up when I'm off line!
Please Please can someone give me some advice on what to do?
Thankyou in anticipation.
Tommy

2 little green arrows normally indicate the software for your USB modem.. so its confused me when it says "local area connection" which is normally indicated by 2 monitors.
IF the green arrows go to yellow then it sounds like your connection could very well be loosing sync with the exchange. There could be several reasons for this.. most often loss of connection through low SNR. - Low SNR Problems.
Tommy i'm having the same problem. I was reading the link kitz and i have a question regarding the NTE5 faceplate. Isn't the voice and adsl data already split before? I've got the same master telephone socket pictured in the article. Do i plug the line in the test socket? And if i bought the NTE5 faceplate is it just a simple plug in procedure? I'm very cautious about fiddling with things like that for fear of creating more damage. Forgive me if these questions seem a bit silly, just seeking a bit of clarification.
