ie7 problem
      #359970 - Sat Aug 04 2007 08:01 AM

Hello all. I recently undertook a complete systems recovery and all was working well until I updated from ie6 to ie7 then the bt broadband home page tools bar kept shutting down when I clicked say on bookmark and I was returned to my desk top. What I am asking is if I delete ie7 will ie 6 still be on my machine. I know I could try it but each time I go onto a microsoft updater or download web page I am sent on a wild goose chase and seldom resolve anything and I don't want to be left with neither.

Remove it via Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Just remove Windows IE7, don't try to remove the IE7 updates.

IE6 will now be available to you.

You need to scroll down to Windows Internet Explorer 7, i.e. it's in alphabetical sequence.

To determine which version of IE you have, go to IE, click Help at the top then click About. If Help isn't displayed, press Alt to show the Toolbar.

If you still have version 6 download version 7 from the Microsoft site.

Hello burrwalnut. Downloaded ie 7 as instructed and it is now on the add and remove list "do you want me to delete it". I went on btbroadband and the side bar said that ie7 was incompatible could this be the reason for my problem?

You have to decide if you want to keep it. I only told you how to remove it.
