With your Primary computer Hooked up to the Router which way is the Faster via an ethernet cable (and does it have to be plugged in pder of socket numbers?) or wireless card as on all other computers in the Network?
My guess is the Cable am I correct? unless there is something Physical in the way
Is my assumption correct?

General assumption is that cable is faster. Wireless has a lot more objects to pass through (usually) and thus does not sometimes deliver the specification speed.
Witha cable, there is no obstruction at all. Most cable connections work at 100mbps and sometimes go up to 1Gbit, in comparison to the usual speed of wireless at 54mbps.
Mostly, there is no difference in speed no matter what socket you plug the cable into, although you may experience some speed loss by connecting multiple devices.
