TalkTalk wireless router no signal!
      #359722 - Thu Aug 02 2007 08:52 AM

Hi anyone who can help - i'm a new user of this site and was prompted to register after tearing my hair out at the 'technical support' provided by TalkTalk.
Quick summary of the problem - turned on laptop last night to connect to wireless talktalk broadband as normal, previously no problems. Plugged in the USB adaptor, and waited for usual signal to show up from the wireless router (its a Philips one), but nothing happened. Checked all the settings, everything fine it seemed. But no signal received. So rang Talktalk, they eventually said, after talking me through some procedures, that the wireless router WAS receiving the broadband service from them, and so the problem was down to the 'connection between the router and my laptop' and they werent 'technically qualified to advise on this aspect'
as far as i'm concerned, i'm planning to take the router back to the carphone warehouse store where it waqs bought when we signed up for wireless broadband in november 06 (but only got connected in january this year) and demand a new one
Has anyone else had a similar problem of no signal being received?
Is it just as likely that if I turn it on tonight, everything will be fine?
many thanks for any help!
