Firefox cant find the server: just on one site
      #359236 - Fri Jul 27 2007 10:27 PM

This problem is actually not affecting me but someone I run a website for, he is able to view all websites except for the one I run of which he is the forum moderator.
He tells me When he tries to connect i am informed that "Firefox cant find the server at www.websitename.co.uk"

He has no problem with many of the other sites he tried to view, I asked him to clear his history cache etc.

If anyone has any ideas on this would be great to hear them, the site works fine in my firefox and all other browsers and have had no other problems from any other users.

Cheers

Ian

Just to update this thread it would not appear to be a browser issue, I asked the person having the problems to look at another site on the same server and he was unable to view this site either.
My guess is his ISP for some reason has put a block on the server IP address, the server is not blacklisted anywhere so have no idea why this would be the case if indeed it even is.
Will carry on trying things and put my answer here should if I work it out in case anyone else has the same issue.

Cheers

Well just to wrap this up in case anyone else gets this problem after trying to ping the server with tracert from the cmd box and a few other things the guy I was trying to help out suddenly got an email from his ISP saying they are giving him a free speed upgrade, once this was done he suddenly was ablt to view the sites on the server, al this after they said it was nothing to do with them.

This is not really a browser issue which I now know but thought I would conclude this thread in case anyone else has the same issue.
