Broadband connection on new router
      #359182 - Fri Jul 27 2007 01:46 PM

I have purchased a netgear DGB111G as me current wireless router is broken. My laptop says that it is conected to the router with excellent connection. Whe I try to get onto the internet through internet explorer it will not let me on. Is there something I need to do 1st to be able to get on?

Yes. Your router needs to be set up to us ethe broadban connection first. This is why you can connect to the router, but not the Internet.

Do you know how to access the router control panel? It should be a simple as entering http://192.168.0.1/ into the address bar of your browser and logging in. If that address doesn't work, take a look at the manuals that came with it. They will also have the username/password you need to login.

Once you are inside your router, you should be able to follow a setup guide, where you can enter the details for your broadband connection. After that it should connect and the Internet should open up.

If you get stuck at any point, let us know.
