Network connection....

If I have just my one computer,then I dont need a network connection...right?

No wrong. You need a network connection in order to access the internet.

so I would not be here if mine was not on,where do I check if everything is o.k? in internet options,as when I go to network connection wizard,it appears thats all for sharing a computer?

Go to Control Panel, Network Connections and see what you've got showing there.

I have two,but the local connection is unplugged(lan high speed internet)?,the other one is the one I use Talktalk?

That sounds right. The Local Area Connection that is unplugged is your ethernet card. I presume you have a USB TalkTalk modem so that's why it is shown as separate connection.

Having identified the fact that you have the correct connections, why did you ask the question in the first place? Do you have a problem of some sort?

Yes,I did,but Ive just put in "Start up inspector" and that sorted it out for me,as I had a broadband connection in my start up and I didnt know I only needed IE,so I was having two dialups competing with each other all the time and could not fathom out the problem.
