Lost Wireless Connection
      #358460 - Sat Jul 21 2007 01:11 PM

Hi Everybody,
My main PC connects to the net via a Netgear DG834GT Wirless Router. My other PC's connect to the router using Netgear WPN111 or WG111T wireless adapter.

This was fine until last Thursday when for no reason at all, one of the PC's stopped talking to the router. I hadn't got around to doing much with it until today but having now connected my laptop up this too has can't get a connection.

It seems to find the Wireless router OK but neither PC is able to connect to the router and they seem to be trying to obtain an IP address. I have checked the internals settings on the Router and they appear fine so I switched off my firewall but it made no difference. I also did a cold start on the router but still no joy.

An update.
I have been doing some further testing and found that the PC will work fine with the router so long as I have security disabled. As soon as its switched back on (and I have checked settings correct on both PC's) it just can't connect.

Thanks

Try removing all the saved profiles and connecting again:

Double-click the wireless icon near the clock.

Click Properties, then the Wireless Networks tab.

Any networks listed below Preferred networks, click on them and remove.

Once the list is clear, you should get a pop-up saying wireless networks detected. Connect to yours and enter the network key.
